Members are encouraged to get involved with WSOTC's many committees and
volunteer opportunities, which include:
· Audit committee
audits the books at the end of each fiscal year
· Budget committee
responsible for the preparation of the annual budget
· Canine Good Citizen test
organization, coordination and supervision of CGC tests
held by the club
· Canine legislation committee
works with organizations and individuals committed to
opposing the adoption of restrictive breeding
and/or spaying/neutering ordinances
· Canine Post committee
publishes the monthly newsletter
· Class committee
assists in an administrative capacity in carrying out
the desires of the Training Committee
· Club awards
accumulates the information for the WSOTC Top Dog
awards, individual plaque awards, club utility,
OTCh and TDX achievement plaques, and the club's
Personal Achievement Trophy
· Club telephone
provides the public with information about the club's
class program and other functions
· Club typist
provides support to officers, board members and
committee chairmen
· Donations committee
investigates and recommends recipients for club's
excess funds
· Exhibition committee
organizes individual and group appearances and/or
demonstrations by club members
· Historian
collects and preserves club records
· Hospitality committee
assigns hostess duties, sends flowers to sick members,
and performs other social amenities on
behalf of the club
· Insurance advisor
advises club on all matters pertaining to insurance
· Library committee
operates the club's lending library, which is available
to all members
· Mailing-printing committee
carries out requests of other committees
· Membership committee
responsible for all duties and information regarding
membership application and records
· Members-Only Match committee
responsible for organizing three members-only matches
each year
· Program committee
provides interesting and informative programs at club
meetings and other functions
· Properties committee
responsible for all club and class equipment
· Sanctioned obedience match committee
organizes, coordinates and supervises AKC sanctioned
obedience matches
· Sanctioned tracking match committee
organizes, coordinates and supervises AKC sanctioned
tracking and advanced tracking matches
· Social committee
organizes a club picnic in July and a holiday party in
December
· Special trophies chairman
provides trophies for first place in Novice A to
all-breed clubs in the Puget Sound area
· Standing rules committee
maintains the standing rules
· Trial committee
organizes AKC obedience trials
· Trial location committee
finds and secures location for WSOTC obedience trials
· Tracking committee
organizes and coordinates AKC tracking tests
(TD, TDX, VST)
supports those interested in tracking
· Training committee
operates in an executive capacity in establishing
principles of training, teaching methods,
procedures and instructor qualifications, and guides
the direction of the training classes
